Green Politics

Green PoliticsGreen politics is defined as a political ideology which places a high importance on environmental goals, and on achieving these goals through broad-based, grassroots, participatory democracy.

Re-defining it in a simpler way  makes us understand that it’s the politics dealing with  firm moral set of standards, principles explaining role of society and its organization and eventually suitable ways to attain efficiently these goals.

Followers of Green politics, who are known as Greens, contribute to many thoughts in regard with ecosystem, preservation, ecological, and peace movements. In addition to social equalities and environmental issues, green politics indulges in issues like human rights communal fairness and diplomacy.

Terms associated with Green Politics are green political thoughts, green parties,etc. In one line statement to direct inter relation between the above mentioned terms is Green politics is promoted by sustainers of the Green movement, which has been lively through Green parties .Before focusing on those topics in brief we will have a glance at the origin of green politics concept. “Green Politics” initiated as a social-maintenance movement not contracting to the word ideology which here means set of ideas proposed by the foremost class of a society to all members of the society, but also has worldly outlook towards larger things and handling the same.
Green politics actually portrays its principled standpoint from variety of sources, from the values of indigenous peoples, to the principles of father of nation-Mahatma Gandhi, Dutch philosopher -Spinoza and Baltic German biologist-Uexküll and many more. These people biased green thought in their advocacy of long-term and on the individual responsibility of every person to make ethical choices. It simply highlights on the principle of “Think globally, Act Globally.” Green political thoughts are those thoughts proposing the actual, clear green (environmental-based) ideas and aims and policies of green movement respectively. Thoughts being the mother of actions, political thoughts play a vital role in various activities being performed in Green movement, in which people as a participant in the ecology, the movement is centered on ecology, health and human rights.
Green politics which is usually said to include activities for people welfare cannot be alleged without formation of parties. Green party is thus an systematized party based on Green politics which even means they  are the chief components of green politics as the people involved are the ones seeking maintenance within govt. for political power, by connecting themselves in official decision-making process named elections in which an individual chooses by themselves a new constitution for them. Any politician or party emphasizing on environmental issues and if concerned with peace or citizens rights can be tagged Green.

Critics sometimes claim that the universal and engrossed nature of ecology, and the necessity of converting some of it to serve humanity, influence the movement towards rigid and disturbing policies, particularly with regard to the means of production, as these uphold human life. Statements are even made that green politics obstacles economic progress. However in return green parties respond that those industrial nations are still the same who are contributing to climate change by the use of carbon-based energy sources rather than going for renewable. They just take care that their policies sustaining ecological growth persuades sparkling technological innovation promoting anti- polluting components.

"Greens" believe that the implementation of these principle shall lead to healthy people, societies, and ecosystems!
