Green Office

Today many of us spend their times at offices. Thanks to the ever-increasing corporate world and the human needs to be fulfilled. The idea of green office is for all those offices, companies or organizations no matter big or small.

An office being a key holder for an individual to operate from, for a healthy environment, promotes its office staff to operate in an environmentally friendly way in each work they perform. They work with the idea to bring benefits for both the organization as well as the environment. Here are 5 important things mentioned which can help you to keep your office green:

1. Build-up healthy office setup- Green the workspace by planting trees around. This will help to lessen indoor pollution. Office no doubt is responsible for wastes which has adverse effects on environment. So composting the waste or recycling it shall make your office and its surroundings greener.

2. Go for recycled rather green items- Make it a point that your office purchases volatile organic compounds rather than opting for hazardous cleaning products. Your furniture, carpets, paints should be made up of organic materials.

3. Work more with less energy- Computer being the central tool at the work should be activated with energy- saving settings. See to that you save energy in all possible ways. Turn-off lights when not in use or don’t use them in broad day light. Save as much as you can.

4. Minimize use of paper- While purchasing paper for printing get recycled paper and if you can do not take out unnecessary print-outs and print on both sides of paper. Tattered waste paper can be used as cleaning or packing material.

5. Reconsider your travel – Travel using public transport instead of choosing private. Walk or go cycling if possible. Avoid business trips if the work can be done by phone calls or online conferences or meetings.

Remember A greener place of work means, a healthier and more productive place to work and helping the environment too.
